“The therapy being provided through Shields & Stripes is a deliberate trauma protocol to train your brain, to process your trauma so that it’s not disruptive to my professional or personal life anymore.” – Past Program Participant

Not only are readers delving behind the scenes of American troops during World War II, they are contributing directly to healing current veterans, service members and first responders.

About Shields & Stripes

American military veterans and first responders risk themselves to keep the country safe. The adversity these brave men and women encounter daily takes a toll on their bodies, both physically and mentally. They sustain injuries not visible to the naked or untrained eye.

Founded in 2021, Shields & Stripes offers a dedicated, intensive program of mental, occupational and physical therapy. Participating athletes gather for an in-person three week program followed by two months of telehealth services to holistically heal bodies and minds.

The program includes trauma-focused psychological therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, education, meditation and yoga. A remarkable team of doctors, therapists, and trainers bring their expertise and dedication to supporting our Shields & Stripes athletes throughout their journey and beyond.

Shields & Stripes‘ intensive program is available to active, separated, or retired U.S. veterans and first responders who have experienced trauma, whether or not it’s combat or job-related.
